Answer: The term "open access network" describes a network that allows multiple service providers to provide services to the end users connected to the network. This presents options for the customer in choosing from several participating service providers based on services they offer, the technical standard, and price. An open access network promotes competition between service providers, benefiting the customer by improved service levels and competitive pricing.

Answer: The survey will only take about 5 minutes, and the information will be valuable for PUD leadership in evaluating if the internet needs of the community are being met and, if not, to secure grant funds to build the needed infrastructure. Please also take the speed test at the end of the survey!

Answer: This survey requires providing your address so that we can understand specific regions or areas of our community that are struggling with inadequate services. TEDD takes your privacy very seriously and will never share or sell your data. Results will be aggregated and utilized for broad understanding of the needs of the community and as statistics supporting grant applications.

Answer: Absolutely not! The survey is for informational use to identify areas that are unserved and underserved by currently available infrastructure. There is absolutely no commitment or obligation attached. In areas where the PUD has built infrastructure, you will have the option to purchase services from local and regional service providers who are utilizing our open-access network. Answer: Yes. As long as your device has a data connection, you will be able to use this site. If taking the survey, please ensure you are connected to your home internet service and directly connected or as close to your WiFi source as possible to ensure the most accurate speed test results. 

Answer: If your address is not found, you can drop a pin on the map where your home or business is located. Our staff will review your address and pin location and approve it if a structure exists at that location.

Answer: If you want to update your survey answers, please take the survey again and it will replace your previous responses in our system. Please note that you will need to use a different email address as only one survey per email address can be accepted. 

Answer: Only one survey per household/business will be accepted. If you live in an apartment building, please include your unit number so we know it is a separate residence. If you run a business out of your home, you can submit a survey as a resident of the address as well as an additional survey for the needs of your business, but you will need to use a separate email address for your response. Make sure to select the appropriate customer type at the beginning of the survey so we know which survey is for your home and which is for your business. 

Answer: The data collected will be used as aggregate data to understand the broadband needs and opinions of the community. Additionally, data may be leveraged to support grant applications for funding to build infrastructure in areas found to be unserved or underserved. Any information from the survey presented publicly or in applications will be aggregated data and will not include personally identifying details. Your information will never be sold or used for any other purpose outside of broadband infrastructure assessments and grants.
